Nice Places - Episode 02
Malaga is always a good plan. We traveled to the capital of the Costa del Sol to visit one of those that is undoubtedly one of our favorite cities. Espetos, jacarandas, museums, almonds and a lot of art. Just getting lost walking through its streets in the historic center and being surprised by each of its corners is a great plan. That is why it had to be on our list of Nice Places.

The same thing happens with places as with music or smells: they create memories. They evoke situations from the past we’ve felt a connection with. With Nice Places, we want to put these places on the map – places that are part of our story and that we want to share with you as we’re absolutely sure that you’ll love them.
Spot 1/6 * Casa Aranda.
The all-time favourite for amazing churros con chocolate. Founded in 1932, it retains its essence, which is why tourists and locals alike keep coming back for more. A must-see and the perfect way to start your day in the heart of Málaga.
Spot 2/6* Calzados Hinojosa.
If you ask a local for businesses that have been around since time immemorial, the name Calzados Hinojosa will definitely come up. Located in the city centre, this family business has been the place to go for alpargatas for more than 100 years now.
Spot 3/6* Librería mapas y compañía.
Located at Calle Compañía, 33. Mapas y Compañía is that kind of place where you can spend hours on end browsing through all the books and knick-knacks related to geography strewn about this amazing shop. An oasis where physical maps continue being the star of the show.
Spot 4/6* Parque de Málaga.
The perfect place to get away from the sun. Stroll along its paths, shelter from the sun under its tropical vegetation and enjoy the many fountains dotted throughout the park.
Spot 5/6* Plaza de la Merced.
If we had to pick a tree to symbolise this city, there’s no doubt that it’d be the jacaranda. And there’s no better place to take in its exuberance and colour than Plaza de la Merced. Aside from these iconic trees, the square is a landmark in itself. It boasts original façades dating back to the 17th century and it’s where Pablo Picasso was born in 1881.
Spot 6/6* Baños del Carmen.
In the Pedregalejo neighbourhood, a bit further out from the city centre, you’ll find this beach that’s famous for its spa. Having coffee while sat amidst the old structure of the baths – where a restaurant now stands – is simply the perfect way to end the day.
